With the publication of the MongoDB 2.6.0 Release Candidate 0, there is a new initiative which aims to encourage the community to test and report bugs in new releases, MongoDB Bug Hunt.

MongoDB has created a contest in which you can participate until March 4. In these 10 days they will analyze and judge all bugs reported under 3 criteria:

  • User impact
  • Severity
  • Prevalence.

They will deliver a first and second prize and at least 2 honorary awards:

First prize:

  • 1 ticket to MongoDB World with a reserved front-row seat for keynote sessions
  • $1.000 Amazon Gift Card
  • MongoDB contributor T-shirt

Second prize:

  • 1 ticket to MongoDB World with a reserved front-row seat for keynote sessions
  • $500 Amazon Gift Card
  • MongoDB contributor T-shirt

Honorable Mentions:

  • 1 ticket to MongoDB World with a reserved front-row seat for keynote sessions
  • $250 Amazon Gift Card
  • MongoDB contributor T-shirt

To participate you should do the next:

  1. Download and deploy MongoDB 2.6.0-rc0 in your development environment
  2. Test the new features of version 2.6
  3. If you find a bug, report it in JIRA

Winners will be announced by March 8 in the Google mongodb-user-group
